Racket Up Squash Academy was established in April 2017 by former England player and now coach, Niall Engerer, to provide a platform and pathway for people to get into squash.
The programme originates from Niall’s own experiences as a player, from his first moments on a squash court at the Romford YMCA to captaining the England junior team to gold in the Czech Republic (2010) and France (2008).
Since founding “Racket Up” at David Lloyd Gidea Park, the number of members playing has almost doubled from 75 to over 130. Boasting tailor-made squash programmes that include over ten group sessions each week as well as playing host to two hugely successful competitions within our first six months of operation, our collaboration with David Lloyd has set the health club apart from it’s competitors.
Outside of coaching and competitions, the academy offers squash camps for juniors and adults to attend throughout the seasonal breaks. Our first ever camps were introduced to Bexley Squash Club and David Lloyd Gidea Park during the six week summer break, proving extremely popular amongst both the clubs members and juniors and will be a regular feature for many years to come.
We are also proud to promote our endorsement from the sports national governing body, England Squash.
